Descriptive Element	Definition
title	The name of the resource.
title.alternate	Another name for the resource other than that used in the Title field.
creator	The name of the entity that authored, photographed, presented or otherwise created the resource.
creator.employee	The name of an employee who authored, photographed, presented or otherwise created the resource.
creator.code	The Goddard organizational code under which the work was created.
creator.contract	The number for the contract or grant under which the work was created.
creator.missionsProjects	The project or mission under which the work was created.
creator.organization	The organization under whose auspices the resource was created.
creator.instrument	The scientific equipment or platform that created the resource.
Contributor Becomes administrative.	The name of an entity that contributed to the present state of the resource.
contributor.employee Becomes administrative	The name of an employee who contributed to the present state of the resource.
contributor.code Becomes administrative	The Goddard organizational code under which contributions were made to the present state of the resource.
contributor.contract	A contract under which contributions were made to the present state of the resource.
contributor.missionsProjects Becomes administrative	A project or mission under which contributions were made to the present state of the resource.
contributor.organization Becomes administrative	The organization under the auspices of which contributions were made to the present state of the resource.
contributor.instrument	A value that identifies the scientific equipment that contributed to the present state of the resource.
subject	A designation of the topic of the resource.
subject.employee	The name of an employee who is the topic of the content of the resource.
subject.organization	The name of an organization that is the topic of the content of the resource.
subject.missionsProjects	The name of a mission or project that is the topic of the content of the resource.
subject.competencies	The name of the vocational or technical specialty that is relevant to the content of the resource.
subject.instrument	The name of the scientific equipment or platform that is the topic of the content of the resource.
subject.businessPurpose	The business purpose for which the content of the resource was prepared.
subject.industries	The name of an industry sector that is a topic of the content of the resource.
subject.uncontrolled	Terms describing the topic of the resource that are not controlled (i.e., keywords).
description	Information useful in evaluating the relevant of the resource to the user’s need. This information may include but is not limited to abstracts, tables of content, reference to a graphic representation of the content or a free-text
date	A date that is relevant to the life cycle of the resource
date.created	The date on which the resource was created.
date.available	The date on which the resource became available.
date.modified	The last date on which the resource was modified
publisher.code	The organizational code of the organization responsible for producing or distributing the resource.
publisher.organization	The name of an organization responsible for producing or distributing the resource.
type	The nature or genre of the resource.
content type	The genre, resource type or document type of the resource.
type.contentInvariance Becomes administrative.	The extent to which the content of a given resource and the links it contains will remain unchanged. Imported from the National Library of Medicine’s permanence ratings system.
format	The technical structure of the resource as indicated by the Mime type.
identifier.persistent	A unique name for the resource that aids in ensuring persistent location over time based on a persistent identification scheme.
identifier.url	The current Uniform Resource Locator (URL) for the resource.
source	Title of a broader resource or collection within which the resource is found.
language	The name of the language in which the resource is presented.
relation.hasVersion	A reference to other versions of the resource
coverage.projectPhase	The project phase to which the content of the object is relevant.
coverage.chronology	The period of years to which the resource applies or in which it was generated.
coverage.spatial	The spatial coordinates for a geographic area to which the content of the resource refers.
rights	Formal statement of copyright or access controls that apply to the resource.
audience	The group expected to use the resource.
