The Metadata Review Group, originally organized by the Goddard Space Flight Center Library,
brings together internal and external metadata experts with the primary focus on metadata for
project documentation and related objects. The MRG now includes employees and contractors from
Goddard, JPL, Glenn, and Langley, as well as metadata experts from other federal agencies and
academia. The MRG supports the development of a metadata framework for digital archiving,
preservation, and access across objects and subjects to advance knowledge management efforts.
The MRG provides an opportunity for those working on metadata to share experiences, work toward
common approaches, map crosswalks for specific metadata element sets, and develop strategies
for advancing the use and application of metadata across NASA.
The MRG received the
One NASA Team Peer Award in 2005. This new award is presented to teams
who exemplify the spirit of One NASA through cross-agency collaboration and the promotion of
standards and best practices.
